University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium Online MBA Cost
Your MBA cost depends on how many credits you take. To estimate costs for the entire program, multiply the total number of required credits from the pathway you choose (either 36 or 12 credits) by the cost per credit. Online MBA cost per credit for the 2024-2025 academic year is $850, regardless of residency.
You should also budget a total of $1,000-$2,000 for books and reading materials for the 36-credit pathways. Costs will vary based on the classes you take as well as how you obtain resources. When selecting books and materials, instructors and instructional designers attempt to select options that are reasonably priced. Some classes even require no additional purchases for books/materials.
After you earn 21 credits, you will also pay a one-time graduation processing fee.
How to Pay for a Master’s Degree from the UW MBA Consortium
MBA financing is available. First, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We recommend you do this as early as possible.
You may apply for financial aid to pay for your master’s degree. You must be currently enrolled or applying for admission on at least a half-time basis as a degree-seeking student. This equates to four credits during the fall or spring semesters and three credits in summer. You will apply for financial aid through UW-Eau Claire Blugold Central.
There are additional opportunities to help you pay for your master’s.
Fellowship and graduate assistantships—determined each spring for the following academic year—can provide some MBA financing. If funds are available, we’ll notify those admitted to the program and outline how to apply.
Fellowships
Fellowships are typically one-time $500-$1,000 awards. Usually, only one is available each year.
Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistants primarily work with one or two faculty members per year. They support research efforts by reviewing literature, collecting data, and assisting with data entry and analysis. GAs may also assist with MBA program planning and other special projects. These positions are typically 10 hours per week but can range from 6-20 hours per week.
Employer Funding
Employer funding may also be an option for you. According to a student survey, 85 percent of new students received at least some funding from their employer towards their MBA costs. Reach out to your employer to learn more about the payment and reimbursement policies.
